Experience
Since 1999, Joe Pierce’s practice has focused primarily on contract litigation and mechanic’s lien law. He represents contractors, subcontractors, and owners in arbitration and litigation in the state and Federal courts of Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. He also has experience with employment law, including Title VII discrimination and Fair Labor Standards Act litigation. He has authored articles and lectured on several topics including bad faith liability for payment bond sureties, mechanic’s lien rights, and The Fair Labor Standards Act. He is currently serving as chairperson of the Government Affairs Committee of the American Subcontractors Association of Metro Washington and as chairperson of the Human Resources Committee of the Heavy Construction Contractors Association.
